Why Volunteer?

  • To learn more about law enforcement
  • To help in your community
  • To enhance the Yuma Police Department's efficiency

The Volunteers in Policing (V.I.P.) program was created to enhance the quality and number of services provided to the community and to get citizens involved in police related activities. Volunteers In Policing are rewarded with the pride and personal growth that comes from helping their community. They are involved in every division in the Yuma Police Department. The V.I.P. program has been in place since 1989 and is being utilized effectively to this date.

The V.I.P. program is part of the department's continuing efforts to better meet public safety needs and create a police/community partnership. In an effort to enhance the police/community partnership, the Volunteers in Policing Program, combines the professionalism and experience of the Yuma Police Department personnel with the creativity and enthusiasm of our community volunteers.

If you would like more information about the V.I.P. program, call Sergeant Lori Franklin at (928) 373-4732 or complete the form below.
