The City of Yuma is announcing new H.H.W. event dates for 2024. We will be returning to four events per calendar year. 

  • Saturday January 13TH
  • Saturday April 13TH 
  • Saturday September 14TH
  • Saturday November 16TH
  • All Dates 8AM - 12PM

The map below shows how the traffic will enter and exit the Public Works Facility during the event. We ask that everyone follows the designated route to ensure a safe and successful event. We look forward to continuing to provide disposal services for all your household hazardous materials.

Drop-off location is 1473 S 2nd Avenue.

During your drop off, please follow these rules:

  • Residents must unload their items on designated tables
  • Bins and containers will not be returned

This Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Collection Program is the safest way to dispose of household hazardous waste products and is open to all City of Yuma and Yuma County residents. This free environmental program is funded through the City's Environmental Fee and is sponsored by the City of Yuma, City of Somerton, and Yuma County. It is a recipient of the Arizona Governor's Pride Award.

What Is Household Hazardous Waste?

Household Hazardous Waste is defined as unwanted corrosive, flammable, toxic or reactive material used in your home, car or truck, garden and lawn.  Bring these items to an HHW Collection event for safe disposal at no charge:

  • Motor Oil
  • Paint
  • Household Cleaners
  • Tires (limit 5, off the wheel & no rims)
  • Anti-freeze
  • Solvents
  • Batteries
  • Pesticides & Fertilizers

Now Accepting Household Electronic Waste! This event now accepts household electronic waste including: home computer components, TV sets, VCR's, cell phones, home phones and small appliances.

Business or commercial waste, explosives, ammunition, pressurized gas or radioactive waste, prescription drugs and sharps (needles) will NOT be accepted.
