Street Sweeping provides the collection and removal of debris and trash that collect in the gutters. This debris can block storm water drains and hinder proper drainage during rains. An additional benefit is the removal of metal particles and other hazardous waste products left by traveling vehicles. Street sweeping is effective method in removing various pollutants that collect on City streets.

Street sweeping serves as one of our Best Management Practices (BMP) to adhere to the federal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requirements of the Clean Air Act and Clean Water Act.
