Engineering Support Services provides a variety of services that support all areas of the Engineering Department, as well as many other departments throughout the City. Among these functions are:

Survey
Stormwater program management
Standards development
Engineering records repository
Bridge inspection records management
Utility atlases
CADD support
Payback agreements

Survey Services

Survey Services establishes and maintains survey monuments and benchmarks for survey control of City and private development projects. It also provides support on construction projects, property acquisition and for other departments throughout the City. Among the duties performed by the City's surveyor are:

Review survey results and legal descriptions provided by outside surveyors
Preparation of lot ties and splits of City properties
Maintenance of the City's established benchmarks (see Engineering Documents & References page for a map and list of City of Yuma benchmarks)
Establishment and maintenance of Global Positioning System (GPS) primary monuments tied to Federal and State plane coordinate systems
