Once a permit is issued inspections are required for the different disciplines of the construction. All work must be inspected prior to covering and moving on to the next step. When calling for inspections, please plan on a 24-hour response time from our field inspectors. All calls for inspections that are received prior to 3 p.m. will be scheduled for inspection the next business day.

 All inspections (non emergency) can be scheduled by calling (928) 373-5170, or by request via e-mail at Inspection@YumaAZ.gov or online from the permit through the Development Portal.

After hours or emergency inspections are available for a nominal fee.  To schedule an after hour or emergency inspection, please call (928) 373-5163.

Virtual inspections are also available for specific types of installations. Virtual inspections can be scheduled using the normal process for typical inspection requests.

Once the construction is complete and all required inspections have been completed and approved, the building official will issue a Certificate of Occupancy. There shall be no occupancy to any building or structure until this certificate is issued.
