The City of Yuma holds regular elections in even numbered years for the purpose of electing candidates. Additionally, the City may hold elections for other purposes as the City Council may prescribe.

Publicity Pamphlet Arguments

The City of Yuma has called a Special Election to be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, for the purpose of referring the following Charter amendment to the qualified electors:  

  • Proposition 425: Mayor & Council Compensation 

The last day for filing arguments supporting or opposing the propositions is Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at 5:00 p.m.  

  • Arguments cannot exceed 300 words in length
  • Must be submitted in electronic (Word) format to the City Clerk’s Office at Clerk@YumaAz.gov
  • Each argument must contain a sworn statement of each person sponsoring it.
  • If sponsored by an organization, it shall contain the sworn statement of two executive officers.
  • If sponsored by a political committee, it shall contain the sworn statement of the committee’s chairman or treasurer 
  • At the time of filing, each argument must be submitted with a deposit of $300 to cover the costs of printing, as provided for in ARS § 19-124 (E), and payment can be made over the phone.
