Live Fire Training

08/21/2012 | Kayla Holiman, Fire Inspector

The Yuma Fire Department will be conducting live fire training on Thursday, August 23rd;  Friday, August 24th; and Tuesday, August 28th at the Public Safety Training Facility, 3575 S. Avenue 4 E., Yuma AZ. The training will be conducted between the hours of 5:00 am and 10:00 am each day.

The purpose of the training is for the YFD Fire Academy Cadets to gain real world experience with vehicle fires and interior fire attack situations.

The training will produce dark columns of smoke for short periods of time. We want the public to be aware that this training is occurring.

An engine company, as well as at least one instructor per crew of students, a Safety Officer, an Ignition Officer, and an Instructor in Charge will conduct the exercises.

These events are not open to the general public to attend, but news media coverage is encouraged.

If you are sending representatives, please contact Mike Erfert or Kayla Holiman at 373-4850.
