Residential Fire - 300 Block of South Magnolia Avenue

On Tuesday, August 7, 2012 shortly after 7:30 pm, a trailer fire was reported in the 300 block of South Magnolia Avenue. Yuma Fire Department personnel arrived to find smoke and flames coming from a 30 foot travel trailer at 313 S Magnolia Ave. Firefighters began fighting the fire and extinguished it quickly, without it spreading to nearby structures. Some of the contents within the travel trailer were able to be salvaged.
The home’s single male occupant was not home at the time of the fire, and there were no injuries. Fire investigators are currently at the scene to determine the cause of the fire.
Temperatures were around 108 degrees (with a heat warning in effect) at the time of the fire, and extra precaution was taken to ensure firefighters did not suffer from heat related illness.
