Serious Injury Accident - 900 Block of West 24th Street

On Monday, July 2, 2012 at about 8:44 pm officers from the Yuma Police Department were dispatched to the 900 block of W. 24th Street regarding an injury accident.
The initial investigation indicated a 65 year old man crossed the Street between crosswalks. The subject was struck by a 1998 Honda Prelude traveling eastbound on 24th Street. The vehicle was driven by 23 year old Joe Anthony CUELLAR.
The subject was transported to YRMC with life threatening injuries and was being prepared to be flown out to St. Josephs Trauma Center in Phoenix. His identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in this accident.
