Airport Loop, Avenue A to County 14th Street

Airport Loop will remain closed to all traffic in both directions between Avenue A and County 14th Street through at least July 26 for repairs to be made to Yuma County drainage infrastructure that was damaged in last week's rains. Detour using Avenue B.

32nd Street Reconstruction, Avenue A Area

Avenue A remains closed to all traffic in both directions between 32nd Street and Holly Drive through the upcoming week. Through traffic should detour using 8th Avenue or 4th Avenue, taking 28th Street or 24th Street to rejoin Avenue A.

Beginning as soon as July 23, traffic control plans indicate 32nd Street will again be reduced to one lane of traffic in each direction with left turns prohibited and speed limit reduced to 25 mph from Avenue B to Avenue A in order for crews to lay the final course of asphalt. The plan indicates this phase will last five days. When paving reaches the Avenue A intersection, Avenue A to 32nd Street traffic may detour using 36th Street and 8th Avenue.

Avenue C, 8th Street to 1st Street and Figueroa - Yuma County

Avenue C is open to local traffic only between 8th Street and Riverside Drive. Through traffic should use Avenue B between 8th Street and 1st Street. This is part of a Yuma County project where a contractor is widening Avenue C from 8th Street to Figueroa Street and 1st Street and installing a City Of Yuma water main.

City of Yuma Street Maintenance

City workers will conduct grinding and sweeping operations the week of Monday, July 23 in the following locations:

• 32nd Street from Avenue C to Avenue D
• 33rd Drive from 24th Street to 28th Street;
• Sundance Village subdivision (crack sealing)
• Phehfer Estates subdivision (crack sealing)

32nd Street, Bonanza to Crest - Private Water and Sewer Installation

32nd Street will experience a series of lane closures between Bonanza Avenue and Crest Drive for water and sewer connections to be made to a private business. The speed limit on 32nd Street will be reduced to 25 mph in this work zone. Work is scheduled to take place for one month.

32nd Street Near Chevy Lane - Private Driveway

Following completion of Bonanza to Crest project (above), the right eastbound lane of 32nd Street will be closed between Chiquita Drive/Chevy Lane and Bonanza Avenue for approximately one month to give crews room to install a right turn lane.

32nd Street by Auto Dealers - Private Driveway

The right eastbound lane of 32nd Street will be closed between Chiquita Drive/Chevy Lane and Bonanza Avenue for approximately one month to give crews room to install a right turn lane.

Upcoming Projects

Avenue A Between 8th Street and 16th Street

A contractor working for the City will remove and replace the pavement on Avenue A between 8th Street and 16th Street. This project includes drainage improvements and some isolated water line installations in this area. The project also includes pavement replacement at Marcus Pool and at the intersection of 12th Street and Avenue B, northwest corner. Construction is expected to begin in late August; the contract calls for a project duration of 3-1/2 months.

Avenue 3E Bridge, 24th Street to Gila Ridge Road

Construction is expected to begin in August on the widening of the Avenue 3E bridge over the Union Pacific Railroad tracks. Two-way traffic is expected to be maintained during expansion of the bridge, which will be built to include three lanes each direction when complete. There will be some speed limit reductions during this project.
