Half-Price Special Continues to Feb. 24

Interest and demand in the special price to adopt Historic Yuma Theatre chairs for half price has been strong - but with chairs still available, the special 100th anniversary price has been extended.

The "Take a Seat for the Centennial" program's special price of $100 per chair has been extended to Feb. 24. This unique adopt-a-chair project is an opportunity to invest in the legacy of artistic excellence that entertains, educates and enlightens thousands of adults and children each year.

"Well over 100 chairs have been adopted so far during this promotion," said Rex Ijams, Arts and Culture Program Manager for the City of Yuma. "What's fascinating is that the program has drawn international interest, with two chairs being adopted from a patron of the arts in Shanghai."

The public was invited to "Take A Seat for the Centennial" in celebration of the Historic Yuma Theatre's 100th anniversary. Contributions are tax-deductible. The chair(s) of choice will be identified with an inscribed dedication plate and contributors also receive a certificate of participation. After Feb. 24 the chair adoptions return to their regular price of $200.

To "Take A Seat for the Centennial" please drop by the Yuma Art Center at 254 S. Main St. in Yuma or call 928-373-5202. Pledge forms are available to download and can also be available via e-mail. Once complete, please mail or deliver the pledge card, with your payment, to the Yuma Art Center.

All monies raised through the "Take A Seat for the Centennial" project benefit the Historic Yuma Theatre. The Yuma Art Center and the Historic Yuma Theatre are owned and operated by the City of Yuma.
