Yuma's population is growing.  Today our city has a population of 94,719, up from 77,515 in the year 2000.  In the year 2020 the population is expected to increase to 119,497.  In sharp contrast to the increase in population is the sharp decrease in financial resources.  Between 2007 and 2010 the budget for Yuma Parks and Recreation has been reduced by 17%.

What remains consistent is the fact that each year Yuma's parks and facilities provide thousands of residents and visitors a place to play, a place to learn, a place to connect with family and friends, and a respite from the harried pace of the modern world.
